Origin
The islands of Macaronesia form a unique biosphere, shaped by their volcanic origin and a mild climate moulded by the trade winds. It is a land where life is understood hand in hand with its surroundings — a symbiotic relationship its people have upheld for centuries, reflected in our very name: Tabona.
This word, inherited from the ancient Guanches, once named both the volcanic raw material and the tool carved from it. A duality that perfectly defines our rum: the purity of nature transformed by artisanal craft.
Cane
The sugar cane we select is born of this exceptional environment. Grown in volcanic soil and exposed to Atlantic breezes, the plant absorbs the pure essence of the islands.
This raw material brings a minerality and a green freshness impossible to find in cane grown on the mainland. It is this natural character of the land that defines the soul and flavour of the juice before it ever reaches our cellar.
Rum
Our rums are made exclusively from sugar cane juice sourced in the islands of Macaronesia. To achieve this, we work hand in hand with local distillers to select the spirits that best reflect the nature of our land.
Once selected, we bring them to our cellars, where they rest in American oak casks.
The result is a natural, light and honest rum. A unique, handcrafted rum, provided by nature.
